When I interviewed director Hannah Lux Davis back in January 2016, she was still celebrating the success of her collaboration with Ariana Grande, Jessie J, and Nicki Minaj. At that time, “Bang Bang” was the biggest budget music video she had worked on. As you read this, the video has 1.6 billion views on YouTube!

Since then, Hannah Lux Davis has directed dozens of record-breaking and chart-topping music videos that we all love. Her aesthetic is unique, and her go-to choice of expression is colorful visuals.

The unique style Hannah Lux Davis employs

I have always loved vibrant, saturated colors in a visual form, and it’s usually what I am drawn to in film, videos, and photography, but that’s not to say I don’t love to indulge in darker, more desaturated imagery.
